Please see the schedule for the Kindergarten to Grade 1 Staggered Start. Thank you for your patience!

• Blue Kindergarten Room 107 (McFarlane): half class on September 2^nd (student last name A to J) and half class on September 7^th (student last name K to Z). The whole class will be together on September 9^th.

• Green Kindergarten Room 107 (McFarlane): half class on September 1^st (student last name A to Ha) and half class on September 6^th (student last name He to Z). The whole class will be together on September 8^th.

• Grade 1 Room 109 (Klenk & Carlson): half class on September 1^st (student last name A to Ka) and half class on September 2^nd (student last name Ko to Z). The whole class will be together on September 6^th.

• Grade 1/2 Room 110 (Allen Corbett & Kellington): Whole class on 1^st and just Grade 2 on September 2^nd (whole class together on September 6^th).

We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the end of August. :)

Brunswick School Community Council extends an invitation to all interested in joining us for our Annual General Assembly on Tuesday, November 1 at 4:30pm.

Here is an explanation of some of the cryptic information that is found in Edsby when you are looking at your child's marks. 

Brunswick Families!
We are so excited to welcome you all back to Brunswick for our second Building Bridges! As these conferences are not connected to report cards, we will not be focusing our conversations on Term 2 learning. Please reach out to teachers to have a conversation if you still have wonders regarding what was communicated in the report cards. 

Building Bridges will take place on March 8 & 9 at Brunswick School. Our focus is to link home and school learning, highlighting both parents and teachers as experts in the teaching and learning of children. In October, we invited you to share your expertise with us about your children, as you know them best! In March, we are inviting you to share the great learning that happens outside of school as well as participate in learning tasks that demonstrate their learning from within school.
 
When you receive the email, please sign up for a 10 minute appointment with each of your child's teachers to discuss the great learning happening at home and please allow for an additional 20 minutes for your child to lead you through their in-class learning. 
For example, if you have 2 children (one in Kindergarten and one in grade 2), you will want to allow enough time for the conference and the learning task so you might sign up for the 4:00-4:10 slot with your K student and then 4:30-4:40 with your grade 2 student. You are more than welcome to take as much time as you need to work through the learning tasks. We will be sending out specific information on March 1 so families can gather pictures, videos, blog or whatever else shows how you and your children learn at home.

Families can download the Edsby Capture app on your device as that's how all evidence of learning is able to be shared with classroom teachers. Again, this information will be coming out March 1.

“Sole-stice Classic” Track Meet: Wednesday, June 7^th  –Melfort, SK

The “Sole-stice Classic” is a grass roots track meet for young athletes to get involved in running, jumping and throwing competitions. This program is being sponsored by the Aboriginal Track and Field of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Athletics. The meet is open to children between ages 8 to 13.  It will be run after school, beginning around 5:00.  For more information, contact Heather Thompson via email at brunswick@nesd.ca

The KVC Art Gallery is featuring artwork by elementary school students during the month of June. To kick off the art show, the 3 Melfort elementary schools are hosting an “Art Show Opening Gala.”

Tuesday, June 6^th, 2023 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the KVC.

Students and families are welcome to come view the art that evening or throughout the month of June.

Healthy Hunger - Boston Pizza Lunch

Brunswick School will be resuming its Pre-Kindergarten program at the Brunswick School location for the 2023-2024 school year.  Pre-Kindergarten students are selected through an application/screening process.  The Pre-Kindergarten Application/Screening Form can be accessed on the Brunswick School Website under the Registration Form tab or by clicking on the following link.

It is important to share as much information about your child's growth and development as possible. Submitting this screening tool does not guarantee your child's enrollment in the program. You will be contacted by the school division if your child qualifies towards the end of the current school year.

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is for 3 & 4 year olds, and runs from September through June, from Monday to Friday, 9:00-11:30 AM. There are 16 spots available in the class each year.
